Fundamentals of Floral Design – Spring Series
Days and Time: Wednesday Evenings 7pm-9pm

Location: Special Occasion Florals Shop – 617 Washington Boulevard (extra parking in the back)
Cost: $40.00 per class; includes ALL materials as well as your final creation to take home.

Description: Come and learn the basics of floral design, You will learn some tricks of the trade and take home your own arrangement each week. Learn why anybody can put flowers into a vase but to create well-designed floral arrangements, you to understand the science behind the art. Learn to use the elements and principles of design, learn about color, learn how to make simple and spectacular bows, how to purchase flowers and greens, how to prep and treat flowers for long lasting appearance, how to care for and store your artificial arrangements and many more helpful hints.
Simple Fresh Flower Arrangement

Work with fresh flowers and greens in floral foam while learning the elements and principles of design. Take home your design to enjoy!
Corsages and Boutonniere
Wednesday, March 14th, 2018, 7pm-9pm
Work with fresh flowers and greens to learn to make: a shoulder corsage using wire, wrist corsage using floral glue, and a boutonniere. Learn to use the tools of the trade along with ribbons and fun accents. Take home your design to enjoy!
Vased Fresh Flower Arrangement

Fresh Floral Centerpiece

Karen Ruhl is a graduate of the the PCT Floral design and Interior Plantscapes Associate Degree Program and has 18 years of floral design experience. In 2013 she began teaching the “Art of Floral Design” art elective class at Penn College. Karen regularly participates in continuing education for herself and promotes life-long learning for adults.
